David Basse has been at the forefront of the music scene in Kansas City since 1982, taking the torch from such legends as KC pioneers Charlie Parker, Count Basie, and Jay McShann. Traveling the world, singing the praises of his adopted hometown, Basse has been compared to many of the greats. Whatever listeners hear in Basse’s well-seasoned voice makes them respond enthusiastically.
Basse is joined by 2 of his favorite musical partners this season. Pianist Greg Richter and bassist Joe Straws spent 15 years together on the island of St Croix, in the Virgin Islands. There, the two of them honed their craft while performing nightly with a principal artist with The Duke Ellington Orchestra, Jimmy Hamilton. Expect special guests and a vibrant evening of music.
