Ok, I'm taking the plunge:
We will be hosting an Open Day here at Turn Wilder on Saturday 16th August!
Come up the hill and see what it's all about. A chance to have a peek at our working micro-flower-farm, and enjoy this absolutely fabulous view. We're not (yet?) set up as a curated destination for guests so expect rough ground, nettles, bees, butterflies, two shaggy cows, mud, brambles, ...but also so much beauty. And to reward yourselves for the steep climb up to Steep Hill, tea/coffee/cake will be available to purchase (pocket money for the smaller Turners). Dogs welcome on leads.
Walk up from Braunton, from St Brannock's via Silver Street and then when it meets Corilhead turn right up the steep lane, continuing on steeply uphill as this becomes a rough track, until you see our gate on the left. Then up through our property following signs for Turn Wilder.
* Note: there is no parking on Silver Street or Corilhead so come on foot from the village. Expect a steep 15-20 minute walk from Braunton over rough ground through our fields and woods. But the walk is half the joy.
I recommend following signs for the farm / Turn Wilder on the way up. If you so choose you can return via the longer route through the Ferny Woods but if so do watch your step as there are holes / trip hazards / steep scrambles along this path (but also fabulous ferny woods, so....)
