Our Nightwalk has returned for 2025!

Join us on 17th May 2025 .

By taking part in Nightwalk, you will make sure local people don’t have to face their final days alone or in pain. A comfortable, dignified death is what everyone deserves. With the right care, a beautiful ending to your story is very much possible

The event will gather women and girls to walk a choice of routes between Barnstaple, Bideford and Instow to raise money for North Devon Hospice.

At registration, simply choose your route. Once confirmed, come along to your chosen start point from 7.30pm on 17th May 2025 to get involved with the fun!

The four routes to choose from are:

• Barnstaple to Bideford (around 10 miles)

• Bideford to Barnstaple (around 10 miles)

• Instow to Barnstaple (7 miles)

• Instow to Bideford (4 miles – please arrive from 8pm if you’d like to walk this route!)

What’s included with your Nightwalk registration:

A lively and fun celebration and walk along North Devon's Tarka Trail at night, with music, lights and entertainment throughout the route.

Raising money

Your Nightwalk registration fee covers the cost of staging this memorable evening.

The donations and sponsorship from Nightwalkers like you will help care for local people and ensure that their final days are filled with dignity and peace, free from pain.

• £20 could support an hour’s counselling for a bereaved child

• £50 could support an hour of dedicated nursing on our bedded unit

• £100 could help our nurses support someone to die in their own home anywhere across North Devon.

When you register, you can choose to set up an online fundraising page to make it easy to collect donations.

How to set up an online fundraising page:

Simply click here to set up your Nightwalk 2025 Just Giving page. Send the link to your friends, family and colleagues using Facebook, WhatsApp, or email. You'll be amazed at how quickly you reach £50 or £100. Once you set up your Just Giving page, we'll keep in touch with tips and support on how to raise as much as possible for local families.

As well as setting up a fundraising page, you can also choose to make a donation to North Devon Hospice yourself. You’ll find a donation option when registering.

If you'd rather have a paper sponsor form, you can download one here. Every pound raised by Nightwalkers like you will help ensure that local people facing the end of their life, or the loss of a loved one, do not have to do it alone.

Safety and accessibility:

We have tried our best to make Nightwalk accessible for all. There will be a shortened, fully accessible Nightwalk route, with more details to be confirmed. Girls aged 11+:

We are pleased to welcome women and girls aged 11+ to enjoy the evening with family and friends and experience the joy of Nightwalk! All girls under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult woman who walks with them at the event. Please note, a maximum of three under-18s are permitted to walk with each adult.
