The electrifying Miguel Montalban is an embodiment of rock and roll ecstasy, with clear blues inspiration, displaying soulful vocals paired with an aptitude for exceptional guitar virtuosity.
The London UK based guitarist formed The Southern Vultures band in 2019, a four-piece internationally lauded as excellent musicianship, considered a rising star in the virtuoso blues and rock music sphere over the past year, headlining festivals around the UK and Europe to crowds of thousands and amassing millions in viral videos and thousands of followers over their socials, since their first full album "And the Southern Vultures" and debut singles "Wander" and "Fell in Love".
The Chilean-born world-class guitarist Montalban has over 150k followers worldwide and is an award-winning YouTube creator in 2023. His band, Miguel Montalban & the Southern Vultures, showcases an electrifying and explosive performance that mixes modern/rock and blues roots with a sublime fusion of pristine virtuosic guitar sounds and exceptional musicianship. Montalban, who graduated in music at the Conservatory of Jazz Music in Rome, has been considered "One of the greatest young guitarists around" (Zakk Wylde). Originally taking to the streets of London busking, Montalban's version of Dire Straits' 'Sultans of Swing' became a viral hit, notching up millions of views and +150k subscribers, getting him worldwide recognition; Rod Stewart presented Montalban via Satelite in Los Angeles: "One of the finest guitarists in London", also Mark Knopfler named Montalban as a "totally excellent musician."
Has worked with producers like Kevin Metcalfe (Queen, David Bowie, Duran Duran, White Stripes), Sony Production with Mike Hedges and Haydn Bendallfor Vincent Niclo's song ADAGIO, also collaborations with producer Andy Whitmore (14 Top-10 UK Hits Peter Andre and Atomic Kitten, Elton John and Terence Trent D'Arby) and also won another Award-Winning contest by Red Bull Music, as best alternative song bringing him to London to work at the Red Bull Studios for a production with Mario Riso and Olly Riva (Sony Music Italy).
In 2017 Launched his own original album "Guitar Juicebox", In 2018 Launched his Live Concert album "Live & Loud Vienna" achieving worldwide recognition as composer with the singles "Last Chance" and "Electrify".
In 2021 produced, Mixed and launched "And The Southern Vultures" a full CD containing 12 original songs and one cover of "Hey Joe" reaching millions of streaming on YouTube. An exquisite mixture of modern rock, blues and exceptional guitar virtuosity. The Album kicked off with "Fell In Love" and then "Wander". The album features recording musicians: Bruno Pint on the bass, Edoardo mariotti, on drums and Yuri Kufa on the rhythm guitar. Produced and mixed by Miguel Montalban and Mastered by EROC (Grobstricht).
In 2023 a double-album entitled "Live in Birmingham" was launched in Denmark St, London out for tour headlining Giants of Rock, Skegness Butlins, Coles Blues Festival, and Nantwich Jazz Festival and plans a European tour (Germany, Netherlands and France) sharing stage with Ricky Warwick (Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, The Dead Daisies, Whitesnake), Texas UK band in Corsica, France, Samantha Fish at Maastricht Blues passions.
