Harbor Stage Theatre Company and Dance Expressions Barnegat invite you to join us for an exciting and transformative week-long workshop! This workshop is designed for performers of all skill levels who are eager to excel in musical theatre auditions.
Whether you're a seasoned performer or a newcomer to the stage, this comprehensive program will equip you with the essential skills needed to shine in your next audition.
During this immersive workshop, participants will receive guidance and hands-on experience in the three critical components of a musical theatre audition: Acting, Singing, and Dancing. Each day participants will rotate between instructors, spending an hour focusing on each discipline.
On the last day, participants will register for a short 1:1 timeslot with the instructors to complete a self-tape for all the components they have worked on throughout the week.
Acting
Script Analysis: Learn how to break down a script and understand your character's motivations and relationships.
Monologue Mastery: Practice delivering both contemporary and classical monologues with confidence and authenticity.
Improvisation Skills: Engage in exercises that enhance your ability to think on your feet
and adapt to any scene.
Singing
Vocal Technique: Receive personalized vocal coaching to improve your range, control, and expression.
Song Interpretation: Delve into the emotional and narrative aspects of your chosen audition pieces.
Repertoire Selection: Get advice on selecting the perfect songs that showcase your strengths and suit your vocal style.
Dancing
Choreography Basics: Learn essential dance techniques and combinations that frequently appear in auditions.
Style Versatility: Explore different dance styles, from jazz to contemporary, to broaden your performance capabilities.
