Formed in Barcelona in 2023, the band mixes indie rock, and post-punk. Spouting lyrically apt themes of anxiety, imposter syndrome and other problems many of us face every day—Lead singer Ieva’s melodic yet edgy vocals is something to experience live.
The drummer, Maria, may just be one of our new favourite drummers to watch. To the untrained ear, it is perplexing...and sounds like she is shifting from one time signature to another, effortlessly keeping the rhythm. But what we love is her JOY. Intense focus turns to huge smiles every so often. Love her.
When conjuring up the experience of Indie rock, we often think: Raw. Unpolished. Kinda punk, but not quite. Jenny Drama Queen echoes a sound that we believe has carved out a distinct place in the music world.
With their upcoming releases, we’re feeling lo-fi recording techniques that reek of Indie Rock, consisting of dark tones, guitar-heavy instrumentals, and powerful grunge vocals.
