Rescued from trash in Boston, MA
by Scott Wilson (MOBA Esteemed Curator Emeritus), 1993
"The motion, the chair, the sway of her breast, the subtle hues of the sky, the expression on her face; every detail cries out "masterpiece". The subject of this MOBA classic has been identified by her great-granddaughter to be Anna Mae Lally. This painting was the seed that grew into MOBA when Mr. Wilson's friends convinced him to share his find with the general public. From— Museum of Bad Art: Art Too Bad to be Ignored, by Tom Stankowicz and Marie Jackson"
Yes, there really is a Museum of Bad Art (MOBA) and so is the argument; who gets to say if art is good or bad? Can art be so bad that in reality it's really good? Good questions, the answers often personal.
