Join author Alexandra H. at the Oceanarium and Education Center for a live reading of her book, The Lobster Lady! Following the story time, there will be a meet-and-greet and a make-your-own-buoy craft activity. The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in our courtyard, adjacent to the salt marsh. The Lobster Lady books will be available for purchase in our shop for $17.99.
The event costs $10.00 per child and includes one accompanying adult. Admission is free with the purchase of a general admission ticket to the Oceanarium on the day of the event.
“Alexandra S. D. Hinrichs is the author of The Lobster Lady, I Am Made of Mountains, The Pocket Book, The Traveling Camera, Thérèse Makes a Tapestry, and poems in various anthologies. Her books have won awards, including Maine’s Lupine Award and Wisconsin’s Outstanding Achievement Award, and have been featured on news outlets such as ABC News, CBS News, and The Washington Post. Hinrichs is an editor at Islandport Press. She is a former librarian and has worked in school, public, and academic libraries. She was also a historical researcher at American Girl. She lives in Maine with her husband, three wild sons, two lazy cats, and one curious tortoise.”
