Spend a winter morning at Peter Beales and learn the basics of seed sowing with our horticultural expert, Dawn.
As part of our January Plant Education series, Dawn will be hosting a free, hour-long session covering everything you need to know about growing plants from seed. From how different seed sizes should be sown, to choosing the right compost and containers, and how to care for young plants in the weeks that follow, this session is a brilliant introduction to propagation.
In the afternoon, Dawn will be back in the garden centre for a relaxed drop-in Q&A, where you can ask questions, seek advice and chat through any seed-sowing challenges you may be having.
This session is perfect for anyone new to growing from seed, or for gardeners who would like a refresher. It is completely free to attend and no booking or payment is required.

Dawn is our resident horticultural expert and a long-standing member of the Peter Beales team. With over thirty years’ experience in the industry, including fifteen years teaching horticulture, she is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture and is currently studying for the RHS Master of Horticulture.
