About the event

CAR T-Cell Therapy: Reprogramming the Immune System to Fight Cancer
This month, BkkSci is thrilled to welcome Thanyavi Chinsuwan, an early-career researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. Dr. Thanyavi earned his doctorate from Shinshu University in Nagano, Japan, where his thesis focused on engineering CAR-T cells using the piggyBac transposon system and testing their efficacy against solid tumors. Currently, he's a member of the Center of Excellence in Cellular Immunotherapy at Chulalongkorn University, a site that is conducting three phase I clinical trials targeting malignancies and autoimmune diseases.

In this session, Thanyavi will delve into:
* What is immunotherapy?
* What are chimeric antigen receptors (CARs)?
* How does CAR-T cell therapy work?
* In which case does it work, and where does it not?
* What clinical trials are being done in Thailand?
