Arcadia Rooftop Cinema: ‘THE NEVERENDING STORY’

SUNDAY: This May 11, duck into the attic and open a dusty book as you prepare to get emotionally wrecked by a flying dog-dragon. That’s right, Arcadia Rooftop Cinema will proudly present “The NeverEnding Story” (1984), the dreamy fantasy epic that haunted a generation. Packed with towering rock monsters, racing snails, and existential dread, it’s a magical adventure that dares to ask: What even is the Nothing?

It begins when shy, bookish Bastian Balthazar Bux (Barret Oliver) ducks into a school attic with a mysterious tome that pulls him into the world of Fantasia—a realm crumbling under the threat of the unstoppable Nothing. There, brave warrior Atreyu (Noah Hathaway) must journey across the land to find a cure for the sick Childlike Empress (Tami Stronach) and save the world with the help of the fluffy, sky-surfing luckdragon Falkor, and one less-than buoyant horse. Along the way, you’ll meet gnarled oracles, snail jockeys, and a wolf with very intense vibes.
