The First Dam Dive of 2025

When: Sunday Oct 19th at 9 am
What: Diving the 1912 Dam at Lake Minnewanka
Where: the boat ramp

The boating season and boat tours end on Oct 14th which means we get to stage from the boat ramp. The ramp is a relatively easy shore entry (until the snow gets here) and it's only a 15 minute swim to the dam.

This is the best time of year to dive the dam, before the water gets too cold and causes gear failures. So this is your four week advance notice and warning to replace that seal, patch that hole, and lube those o-rings. We'll be diving the dam every weekend after Oct 14th 'till she ices over.

- remember to bring your own hydration and snacks
- possible second dive since the water should be warm
- we usually do a post dive "debrief" at the Drake or the Rose and Crown in Canmore
