Vesper is a new dream play conceived and directed by Jarod Hanson in co-production with Baltimore's premiere experimental theatre company, The Acme Corporation. The show runs from October 17 - November 2 at The Voxel as part of Hanson's Voxel Artist Residency.

Vesper is a genre-defying, surrealistic dream play with dynamic physicality, atmospheric music, and poetic text. Join a cast of ethereal characters as they search for meaning amid their wishes and nightmares to find their light. The play explores humanity’s relationship to the night and the rituals we invoke to heal, find peace, and ward off danger—all as a metaphor for navigating internal and societal darkness.

Featuring original music and multimedia by Jason Charney and text curated by Jarod Hanson, Vesper is Hanson’s creative debut in Baltimore after several lauded collaborations with companies such as The Acme Corporation, Fells Point Corner Theatre, and The Wilma. Devised with a powerhouse cast, this production features Hanson’s unique style of rich ensemble imagery and poetic storytelling for a visceral experience you won’t want to miss.
