THE SHARK IS BROKEN delves into the chaotic behind-the-scenes drama of the making of the 1975 film Jaws. Specifically, it focuses on the strained relationships between the three lead actors: Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider, while they are stuck on the fishing boat Orca due to a malfunctioning mechanical shark named Bruce. The play explores themes of ego, masculinity, generational divides, and the pressure of filming a blockbuster, all while highlighting the personal struggles of the actors.
