June Star:

Founded in 1998 and based in Baltimore, Maryland, June Star has been quietly shaping the sound of modern Americana for over two decades. With roots in alt-country, folk, and rustbelt rock, the band—anchored by songwriter and frontman Andrew Grimm—weaves vivid, emotionally resonant stories that speak to memory, distance, heartbreak, and survival.

June Star released its self-titled debut in 1999 and has since built an expansive, genre-defying catalog. Blending dusty lyricism with textured arrangements, the band’s sound evokes the melancholy of Townes Van Zandt, the weight of Springsteen’s Ghost of Tom Joad, and the weary grace of Wilco. Their songs live where loss meets endurance, where the past lingers and the road stretches endlessly forward.

Grimm’s gravel-toned vocals are supported by a powerful lineup: Dave Hadley on pedal steel, David Bryson on drums, Chris Iseli on bass, and Michael Zepeda on guitar. This incarnation of June Star brings both subtle dynamics and raw presence to the studio and stage.

Fiercely independent and emotionally unfiltered, June Star continues to evolve, with recent albums like Arrival (2022), Latency (2024), and Agency (2025) offering some of the band's most vulnerable, layered, and cinematic work to date.
