The Greater Baltimore Climate Summit is hosted by a committee of professionals from Morgan State University, Baltimore Green Space, the Maryland Department of the Environment, the HBCU Environmental Justice Technical Collaborative, and more local organizations.
The summit is an innovative gathering—inspired by forward-thinking programming of California’s Strategic Growth Council—tailored to the unique needs of Baltimore City and its surrounding counties.

Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 17, Partnerships for the Goals, GBCS aims to foster collaboration between government, academia, the private sector and civil society dedicated to enhancing the region’s environmental infrastructure and programming.
This summit will serve as a platform for bringing awareness to the most pressing environmental issues in the region, increasing organizational capacity to capture new and optimize existing climate, clean energy, and sustainability funding, initiating the development of a collective synchronized agenda to optimize resources available to the region, and creating a safe space for groups to discuss the challenges facing climate action strategies, including infrastructure, funding, administrative barriers, public policy and more.
