About this Class:
Over 8 weeks, you will explore one of improv's most popular and foundational performance forms, the Harold. Throughout the class, we'll learn about the core building blocks of the form, and how to combine them into a glorious show:
Each class session will run from 7:00pm-9:00pm ET, with optional time available after class to discuss and debrief.
Class will run from September 16th through November 4th, and we'll have a student showcase on November 11th.
Prerequisites: Fundamentals of Improv Level 2 or equivalent training at another theatre (reach out if you have questions).
This class is in-person, but Highwire Improv also offers online classes - check out our page for other offerings!
About Your Instructors:
Barry Wright (he/him) is an improviser, teacher, and technology professional. He is a co-founder of Highwire Improv and currently serves as President of the Board. He has trained in improv since 2017, including at Baltimore Improv Group, Hoopla Impro, and numerous online workshops. He performs with groups including Improv Jeoparty, Topiary, Important Screws, Whatever This Is and Dreamweaver. Barry lives with his wife Kristen and their three cats and is always happy to chat about improv or start a Google Doc.
Jess Robey (she/her) discovered her passion for improv comedy five years ago during an intro to improv workshop, and she hasn’t looked back since. Based in Baltimore, Jess has performed at various theaters and spaces in cities across the East Coast.
Currently, Jess is a member of several Baltimore improv teams, including Babeprov, Croc Talk, Important Screws, Teen Angst, and the show she produces, Girl Talk.
Outside of improv, Jess finds joy in dancing, candle making, and writing. She sees improv as a liberating experience, allowing her to let go, have fun, and feel supported.
