Hannah Atallah

Throughout the night, visitors are welcome to participate in collaborative weaving project by Artist-in-Residence Hannah Atallah. Using a flipped table loom, a method developed by Baltimore artist Joyce Scott, multiple people can weave together, creating a collective artwork. Completed weavings will be raffled to raise mutual aid funds for families in Gaza.

Hannah Atallah (b. 1994, Washington, DC) is a visual artist who draws on her Palestinian-Lebanese-Irish heritage. With a focus on large-scale public art projects and installations, she prioritizes the incorporation of community and cultural traditions in her practice. For the Art Walk, Hannah will lead a collaborative weaving project, inviting guests to contribute to a collective artwork that reflects themes of memory and shared histories. Atallah has painted murals and exhibited work in the US, Mexico, and Jordan, and has received nearly 20 grants and awards for her work.
