Fibre to Form: Random Weave with Jugan Dandii

Enjoy a relaxing, restorative, creative weekend practicing the free-form technique of random weave. This artform offers an accessible foundation to use natural fibres foraged from the garden and the bush to create a range of unique and natural forms, both decorative and functional. Options include vessels, baskets, light shades, and sculptural pieces. Across the two days, you will learn how to collect and prepare easily found weaving materials, and experiment with a range of fibres and construction techniques.

This workshop is suitable for all experience levels. Tools and materials are included.

Local weaving collective Jugan Dandii are Nyangbal, Bundjalung woman Aunty Tania Marlowe and fibre artist/educator Debra Cole. Passionate about empowering individuals and groups to gain confidence in woven arts for its creative and wellbeing potential, they have been sharing the restorative practice of natural fibre weaving, along with connection to community, country and culture across the region for over a decade.
