This beautiful heritage building dates back to the 1860s and boasts a fascinating history of speakers and performers who practiced phrenology, magic and seances to large audiences in our Minerva Room.

With an impressive collection of rare books including those on the occult and pseudosciences, you will learn about the building’s original purpose as a hub for scientific and technological education.
Our guides will take you into every room at the BMI including the basement, steeped in mystery and witchmarks!
