Our tribute to the most spectacular view of the Danube along the Romanian section – the Danube Gorges.
Discover secret villages where local minority peacefully live and keep their traditions, have awesome view of the Danube, visit monasteries, have boat trips to hidden caves, and old reminiscences of the Roman Empire.
The route is along EuroVelo6 cycling route.
Day 1: Meeting in Eșelnița - one of the touristic sites in the Danube river.
Time for bike check and to discover the local sites.
Fish dinner on Danube board.
Day 2: Cycling along Danube - EuroVelo6 route 50/90 km visiting the wilderness of Danube and the spectacular gorges
Day 3: Orșova by bicycle - the border city is also a good place for cycling. For keen cyclists - climbing the Dranic Hill for a spectacular view over the Danube 60/80 km route, with more difficult 20 km on Dranic Hill.
Day 4: Boat day
A guided boating trip for visiting the caves and the Tabula Traiana stone. Free day for the rest of the time.
Optional hiking tour for a speechless view over the Danube.
Day 5: Cycling to the hidden villages of Danube mountains.
Not too many people are aware about the local minorities who worked along the years in the region, mainly for mining. We will visit some of them, enjoying other beautiful views. 40 km route, with a few difficult climbs.
Day 6: Ride along Danube Route - the EuroVelo6 cycling route
From Hinova to Cetate - along the Danube dykes, visiting remote villages with fishermen.
60 km route to Cetate Cultural Harbour.
Overnight in Cetate
Day 7: end of our journey
