During the summer of 2024, Johnny Watkins came up with the idea to have a back to school bash to give away backpacks to kids with a few school supplies in it. It was such a huge blessing to see the children’s smiling faces light up when they got to pick out their backpack.
Bro. Johnny lead us at Bethel all of 2024 and we are forever grateful for him pushing us through our tough times and always encouraging us to push forward. He was a good and faithful servant.
This year, Bethel is blessing more than double the amount of backpacks than we did last year. But this year, they are being given in remembrance of our faithful Bro. Johnny Watkins, who was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 18, 2025. Even though Bro. Johnny started this mission in 2024, we are calling this year’s giveaway “Johnny’s 1st Annual Backpack 🎒 Blessings from Heaven”. He truly loved blessing those in need and was delighted to do so.
If your have a child or children that need new backpacks, please message me with the number associated with the 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice they would like. If the 1st choice is available, I will assign it to your child. If the 1st one is not available, but the 2nd choice is, I reserve that one for your child.
Pick-up days/times at Bethel are as follows:
Saturday, July 26th 3:00-5:00 at Bethel
Sunday, July 27th 4:00-6:00 at Bethel
**This year we purchased more backpacks instead of school supplies. Due to the cost of the backpacks, we limited the school supplies to a pack of lined notebook paper, a spiral notebook, a few pencils and a glue stick.
