Objective: To move a stack of 6 disks from the starting peg to the target peg in the shortest time possible, strictly following the rules.
Mechanics:
1. Game Setup: The puzzle will use 6 disks stacked in descending size on the starting peg.
2. Rules of Play (Must Be Followed):
- Only one disk can be moved at a time.
- A larger disk may never be placed on top of a smaller disk.
3. Procedure:
- The contestant will be seated in front of the pre-set 6-disk puzzle.
- The judge will signal the start, and the timer will begin.
- The contestant must move the stack of disks from the initial peg to the final peg, strictly following the rules.
4. Scoring & Judging:
- Basis for Scoring: The only basis for scoring is the time taken to successfully complete the puzzle.
- Completion: The game is complete, and the timer is stopped, when all six disks are stacked in the correct descending order on the final peg.
- Invalid Moves/Penalties: If a contestant violates a rule (e.g., placing a larger disk on a smaller disk), they must immediately rectify the move and continue. The timer will not stop during the correction.
5. Attempts: Each contestant will be given one (1) attempt to solve the puzzle.
6. Winner: The contestant with the fastest time recorded for the successful completion of the puzzle will be declared the champion.
