Assessing Structure Ignition Potential (ASIP) Training
The Colorado State Forest Service, in partnership with FACO and Eagle County, is sponsoring a two-day Assessing Structure Ignition Potential from Wildfire (ASIP) course in the Town of Avon. The course provides attendees with science-based best practices to mitigate structural ignition potential. Attendees will learn to identify structural ignition vulnerabilities, options for mitigation, and how to work with homeowners during the assessment process.
Assessing Structure Ignition Potential (ASIP) from Wildfire is an NFPA® training that covers wildfire behavior, structure exposure, and the concepts of the Home Ignition Zone and Structure Ignition Potential. The class is taught by experienced wildland fire specialists based on scientific research on how homes and other structures ignite during wildfires.
