TIMES: Matches begin each day at 9 a.m. Practice times on Match days is from 8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. The range will also be open on Friday, September 12th, from noon until 5:00 p.m. for final Registration, equipment weigh-in and practice.
ENTRY FEES: Junior Shooters = $40 for one day, $65 for both. (Please provide birth date on entry form)
All others = $60 for one day, $100 for both.
Entry form, with payment must be received by August 15th in order to receive a T-Shirt. Entries will be accepted until close of practice on September 12th (5:00p.m.) or until range capacity is reached.
Getting these completed applications in to the Match Director is ESSENTIAL for match planning: Food & Drinks, Trophies, Tee Shirts, prizes and the like. Also the forms allow us to complete the required NRA paperwork and to mail anything to competitors at a later date. PLEASE fill out the form by the deadline - it is a BIG HELP!!
MEMBERSHIP: Membership in the NRA is not required, but all shooters MUST have up-to-date NRA Silhouette Classification Cards and have paid this year’s Competitor Fee. Note: Unclassified shooters will compete in Master Class.
RULES: Current NRA Silhouette Rifle Rules will apply for the whole Tournament. ARPC rule for Empty Chamber Indicator will be strictly enforced. Only standard velocity ammunition will be allowed to avoid damage to targets. Case deflectors will be required on rifles ejecting cases in a manner that may strike other competitors.
RANGE CAPACITY: 60 shooters per day. Early registration is recommended!
SQUADDING: Competitors may choose their squadding on a first come/first serve basis prior to the beginning of the Tournament. Competitors will score for the relay following them.
COURSE OF FIRE: Each Championship will consist of two (2), 40-shot matches fired each day, one in a.m. & one in p.m.
Saturday Matches: Smallbore Rifle -- 10 shots Chickens @ 40 meters
10 shots Pigs @ 60 meters
10 shots Turkeys @ 77 meters
10 shots Rams @ 101 yards
Sunday Matches: Hunting Rifle -- 10 shots Chickens @ 40m
10 shots Pigs @ 60m
10 shots Turkeys @ 77m
10 shots Rams @ 101 yds
AWARDS: All awards are based on 80 shot aggregate/day. North Carolina State Champion will be awarded each day to the highest scoring NC resident. Open Champion will be awarded each day to the highest scoring competitor excluding the State Champion. Class awards will be as follows: Master, AAA, AA, A and B Classes. Number of place awards will be determined by number of people in each class. Additional awards will be given for High Super Senior (70+), High Senior (60+), High Lady, High Junior and High Animal in Each Classification. There will also be a Most Turkey Award for classes AA, A and B – a tradition started at the (Florida) Sunshine Classic and “Stolen with Pride” for our match!!! Competitors winning multiple awards, with the exception of High Animal awards, will choose the single award they wish to receive. Daily match awards will be presented at the conclusion of the day’s matches and shoot-offs. We will once again have a TEAM TOURNAMENT imbedded within each day’s match. It has a separate entry fee $15/3-person team each day. Award for 1st place each day. The fee goes to offset some of some of the Target Setter costs.
GENERAL INFORMATION: Asheville Rifle & Pistol Club is located at 100 Sandy Spring Drive, Arden, NC 28704 and is in Google Maps. We will be providing lunches each day for competitors, with additional lunches available for $10.00 per person each day for non-shooters. There are only porta-johns for restrooms and hand sanitizer a plenty!

General Liability and Waiver for the Asheville Rifle & Pistol Club
This document may have legal consequences: you are encouraged to read it carefully.
WHEREAS, ASHEVILLE RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB, a North Carolina non-profit membership organization (ARPC) owns and provides to its members and guests a certain property to be used as a membership only recreational and target shooting range; and
WHEREAS, the said ARPC has established and provides for a regular schedule of dates and times when the said property may be used for the designated purposes, and further, provides the services of volunteer members as range safety personnel in order to maintain a well regulated schedule of access and use of the facility; and
WHEREAS, the said ARPC has established a set of standard operating procedures and other rules and regulations in order to provide a framework for the safe operation of the facility as a target shooting range, which has been provided to each member of the Club and by which each member is responsible for their conduct and the conduct of their guests while on range property;
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises of the parties hereto, each signatory set forth below agrees that:
He/she assumes sole responsibility for:
Their actions and the actions of those under their control and supervision in the use of firearms, vehicles and/or any other personal property while on the Club premises, and all such actions or conduct shall not be attributable in any manner to ARPC, its agents or assigns;
Any loss or injury which may be directly or indirectly attributable to their acts while on Club property; and agrees to indemnify the said ARPC for any monetary damages which may be assessed against it as a result of said actions or activities.
Each member/guest is familiar with and knowledgeable concerning any and all personal property used on the property. Further, each member/guest affirms that he/she will comply immediately with instruction from range safety personnel present on the facility. Further, each member affirms that he/she will be responsible for the actions of their guest(s) while on the property.
The member/guest hereby releases forever the said ARPC, its officers, directors and range safety personnel, jointly and severally, of any liability for the actions of the member/guest in their use of the facility, and waives any claim the member/guest believes he/she now has or hereafter may acquire against the said ARPC, its successors and/or assigns.
If the guest is a minor, or under any disability which prevents the said guest from acting in their own interests, then their participation in any activity while on the premises shall be under the supervision of a parent or other legally designated guardian; or if the activity is under the sponsorship of a Club or other officially sanctioned youth or disability program, then such participation shall be under the supervision of a designated supervisor of such program or activity, which shall be solely responsible for their action.
ARPC reserves the right to refuse any person the use of the Club property in accordance with the following policies:
Any guest may be refused permission to use the property for any reason or for no reason, in the sole discretion of the ARPC, its officers, directors or in the judgement of any range safety personnel present on the facility.
Members of the Club are bound by the bylaws, standard operation procedures, other rules and regulations and any infractions will be handled as provided therein.
The member/guest acknowledges that he/she has read and understands the foregoing, and executes this release and waiver of his/her own free will and not under any form of coercion or duress; a copy of the form has been received by the member/guest.
