Sonic Tranmissions Festival brings together cutting-edge sounds from Texas, Chicago, New York, Amsterdam, and Norway. Spanning multiple venues (Draylen Mason Music Studio at KMFA / Austin Scottish Rite Theater / DadaLab / MONKS / Radio East). This year’s festival showcases radical artists pushing the limits of jazz, rock, folk, experimental, and global traditions.

Sonic Transmissions Festival 2025 wraps up with a powerful finale at Radio East, bringing together four singular Texas-based acts that embody the festival’s spirit of fearless genre fusion and radical expression.
The Young Mothers, the explosive cross-continental supergroup led by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, returns with their raw mix of free jazz, hip-hop, noise, and punk. Garrett T. Capps & NASA Country launch listeners into the cosmic honky-tonk stratosphere with their psychedelic twist on classic country. Minimalist chamber ensemble Thor & Friends(founded by Thor Harris of Swans and Shearwater) create meditative sound worlds with mallet instruments, strings, and winds. And Little Mazarn, the haunting folk project led by Lindsey Verrill, brings banjo, singing saw, and heartfelt lyricism into intimate, otherworldly focus.
