Namal Scholarship Fundraiser (Austin)

Friends of Namal USA is pleased to welcome you to a fundraiser to support talented students of Namal University, Mianwali. Your contributions will help provide precious scholarships to help them secure their dreams. 97% of all students at Namal are on scholarships.

These students come from 71 districts across Pakistan and 80% belong to rural or tribal areas.

Your support can endure Namal's mission of uplifting rural communities and bringing sustainable change.

Walid Iqbal is the grandson of poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal and son of philosopher and former Senior Justice Javid Iqbal. He staunchly believes in education's power to create sustained change. Walid Iqbal is an Ambassador of Namal Knowledge City and has promoted its cause for many years.

Ali Haider is a renowned Pakistani pop singer, songwriter, actor, and television host who gained immense popularity in the 1990s with hits like "Poorani Jeans" from his album Sandesa. Born on September 22, 1967, in Karachi, he began his music career in 1988 and went on to release numerous successful albums, blending pop, Sufi, and devotional music. In addition to music, he acted in popular TV dramas and films, and later hosted religious TV shows, including The Ali Haider Show. After the tragic loss of his son in 2009, he shifted focus to religious content but returned to mainstream music in 2012. He is also a fashion designer, running his own label, Qarar, and remains a respected figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
