We aim to celebrate and empower historically marginalized writers and share incredible literature and diverse perspectives to an Austin-area audience. Emily Bludworth de Barrios (she/her) | @emilybloodwolf on IG  | loves pistachio ice cream

Emily Bludworth de Barrios is the author of five poetry books and chapbooks, most recently Rich Wife (University of Wisconsin Press 2025). Poems have recently appeared in The Poetry Review, Harvard Review and Electric Literature.

Cloud Delfina Cardona (she/they) | @mexistentialism on IG  | loves strawberry ice cream

Cloud Delfina Cardona (she/they) is an artist, writer, and book cover designer from San Antonio, Texas. She is the author of What Remains, winner of the 2020 Host Publications Chapbook Prize, and the past is a jean jacket, winner of the Hub City Press BIPOC Poetry Series. She is the co-founder of Infrarrealista Review, a literary nonprofit that publishes Texan voices. Cardona is the 2024-2025 Letras Latinas Poetry Coalition Fellow and currently works as the Marketing Coordinator at Gemini Ink. She moonlights as DJ Mexistentialism.

The open mic is reserved for writers from historically marginalized communities.

Because slots are limited and we want to make room for everyone, we ask that you wait until 7:10 to sign up if you joined us for the open mic the previous month.
