Honey Harvest Open House

Ever wonder how honey makes its way from the hive to the bottle? Join our Nature Center staff for an up-close look at honey extraction from our three honeybee hives that live here at the nature center. See how we use a hot uncapping knife to open the comb, discover how a bicycle helps spin honey out of the frames, and learn what role the strainers in our collection buckets play. We may even be bottling honey during the demonstration! (Please note: honey will not be available for purchase until the following week.)
