Free Community Concert & Hands-On Workshop

Presented by the Rattletree School of Marimba & Mafaro Marimba

Come experience the joyful and powerful music of Zimbabwe with us! This free community concert and interactive workshop is open to all ages—no experience necessary!

For many years, our free events were made possible thanks to generous support from City of Austin grant funding. Due to the current political climate, that funding is no longer available. Even so, it is deeply important to us to continue sharing this amazing music with our Austin community. We are having a series of three concerts with the hopes that we will receive enough support to keep them going.

We are grateful to Casa de Luz for donating the space, but there are still many costs involved. This event is free to all—no one will ever be turned away, and we will not be asking for payment at the door. If you feel called and are in a position to help, a donation space will be available at the event and created online before the event. Your support makes it possible for us to continue offering these concerts and workshops for free.
