What is a Book Swap?
A book swap is a fun, free, and community-minded way to refresh your family’s bookshelf while giving your gently loved stories a new home. Instead of buying new books, bring the ones your kids have outgrown (or you’re done with) and take home fresh stories to enjoy!
Simply bring your books when you arrive, sort them by category, and then browse and take home as many new-to-you books as you’d like. This is NOT a one-to-one trade—if you bring at least one book, you’re in!
The following types of books will be accepted:
📚 Board books
📚 Children’s picture books
📚 Early readers
📚 Chapter books
📚 Fiction & non-fiction
Please no coloring books, magazines, or damaged books (torn/stained).
What is a Self-Sorting Swap?
This book swap is self-sorting, which keeps things simple and fun. Here’s how it works in three easy steps:
Locate the category signs around the swap (board books, picture books, chapter books, etc).
Add the books you brought to the matching category (don’t forget to keep your bag for your finds!).
Browse the categories and take home as many new books as you’d like.
This is an all-ages event! Kids are welcome to join in the fun.
All leftover books will be donated.
Can I Invite a Friend?
Yes! Please feel free to invite friends, neighbors, or family who love books. This event is about building and supporting community. Come meet a new friend too!
Snacks will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring something to share.
Volunteers Needed
We’d love a few helping hands! Volunteers are needed for:
Bringing a snack or drink to share
Leading a story time
Providing a few boxes for transporting leftover books
Staying afterward to help clean up, box up books, and deliver them to a donation site.
If you’re able to help with one of these tasks, please let me know!
✨ Come swap stories, discover new reads, and connect with fellow families in our community! ✨
