Hey, kids! Coyote Duran here and I'm proud to announce that, in partnership with the amazing folks at McCarty Mills Taproom and Bottleshop, the Official Aurora, Illinois Drink and Draw Social Club kicks off its first meeting, starting Friday, July 18, 2025 at 6 pm.
Inspired by the actual Original Drink and Draw Social Club, established in 2005, by comic book creators Jeff "Hondo" Johnson, the Reverend Dave Johnson and Dan "Urban Barbarian" Panosian (with Panosian's blessing and endorsement), our brand-new Social Club will carry on the grand tradition of gathering artists of ALL skill levels at tables laden with art materials and excellent craft libations.
And this, dear friends, is where YOU come in!
It doesn't matter what age, religion, ethnicity, gender/gender identity or skill level, YOU are invited. Whether you work in traditional materials or digitally (sorry, not cotton to accepting AI as art. There's a vast difference between digital art and artificial intelligence), we want you HERE. If you work as a professional artist and are struggling with deadlines, bring your work here. Maybe the atmosphere and environment will help you get past that block!
And if you're struggling, feeling alone, anxious, disenfranchised...this is where you belong. There's no membership fee or cover charge, nor is there any requirement to actually imbibe. McCarty Mills features several refreshing non-alcoholic options!
That said, we have one rule: If you do choose to enjoy some wonderfully tasty craft options, PLEASE take care to arrange a safe way home. We want to see you return hale, hearty and ready to attend our NEXT meeting!
