Using Firearm Restraining Orders to Prevent Gun Violence

Michelle Meyer, Kane County Health Department and Yesenia Saldana, Family Service Association of Greater Elgin present this one-hour training that will educate participants on the use of Firearm Restraining Orders (FROs) as a legal tool to prevent gun violence and suicide. FROs allow concerned individuals to petition the court for the temporary removal of firearms from someone who may be at risk of harming themselves or others. This training is intended for healthcare providers, educators, domestic violence advocates, legal professionals, and any concerned members of the community.
