Part 1:
Beginner Appropriate Yin Yoga & Restorative Yin Yoga

Quieting the Mind for a Beginner
Mandy teaches a method very similar to Bernie Clark. In Part 1 you will learn how to teach a beginner safe approach to teaching Yin yoga as well as how to teach restorative Yin. Yin can and should be a very meditative practice. Learn how to calm the mind and feel the “Yin release” so many yogis miss in their practice. Mandy will show you what props you will need for each posture and the proper amount of time to be held. She will discuss injuries and how to properly work with your students who may have limitations. You will be required to buy The Complete Guide to Yin Yoga by Bernie Clark for the course. You will also be required to do practice teaches and homework throughout the program.
Part 2:
Advanced Yin Yoga & Upper Body Yin
What you will learn:
Advanced Posture Sequence for the Spine
Advanced Posture Sequence for the Hips & Legs
Upper Body Posture Sequence
Appropriate Props
Appropriate Hold Times
In Part 2 you will learn a more advanced way of teaching Yin and the appropriate times to hold the postures. Yin is typically focused on the lower body, we will explore using Yin holds for the upper body to help with upper body aches and injuries. Learn to calm the mind chatter in the more challenging postures and the proper way to release from these long holds.
Part 3:
Yin Yang Yoga Flow - Adding Warmth to the Yin Practice – Wall Yin

Wall Yin Yoga Sequence

Appropriate Props
In Part 3 you will learn why warmth is ok in the Yin Yang Yoga Flow practice and how to properly bring your students back into the Yin meditative state. You will also learn how to teach and entire Wall Yin Yoga sequence. Flowing from posture to posture at a quick pace can cause harm to the body. Yin Yang Flow incorporates the long holds of Yin while flowing at a very slow pace. Yin Yang Yoga Flow adds balance into your Yin practice and is challenging.
