Join us in commemorating Ukraine's Independence Day, a powerful tribute to freedom, resilience, and national pride. As Ukraine continues its courageous struggle for sovereignty, it is more important than ever to unite in solidarity and honour the enduring spirit of independence. Together, we stand in support of Ukraine’s pursuit of peace and self-determination, celebrating not just its past, but also the hope for a free and peaceful future.
All Ukrainians and friends / supporters of Ukraine are welcome.
2-Part Event:
1. Stand with Ukraine - Auckland Rally:
Join us at Aotea Square from 1:00 pm.
Friends and supporters of Ukraine are encouraged to attend. Bring your Ukrainian flags and #StandWithUkraine posters. This event will go ahead rain or shine, irrespective of weather conditions!
And march to part 2 (departing Aotea Square between 2:45-3pm).
2. Poetry Reading & Ukrainian Community GetTogether:

After the rally, we will march together to the 2nd event held by our community members in collaboration with “Creative Ukrainians” - see link above for details: “The war that touches everyone” - Poetry readings by director and writer Maria Starozhytska (in Ukrainian and English).
The event will be dedicated to the New Zealanders who died defending Ukraine from the Russian aggressor.

Following the official part we invite members of the Ukrainian community and their friends/family to gather for a shared meal.
Some food will be provided.
Those who registered for the 2nd event of the day, please bring a plate to contribute towards the communal table.
The gathering will take place at the same venue. More detail on this part of the event and how to take part will be posted in the local Ukrainian community groups.
