Kia ora New Lynn!
The Whau River Catchment Trust is holding a community workshop designed to give New Lynn households the tools you'll need to build neighbourhood flood resilience.
What we'll cover:
- Why does flooding occur?
- What does flood resilience look like?
- What can you do to make your neighbourhood flood resilient?
Location: Meeting Room 1, New Lynn Community Centre
There will be a presentation from Angus Campbell, WRCT's Community Flood Resilience Coordinator, followed by a more informal section which is your opportunity to ask questions and join in the discussion about how you can take flood resilient action.
If you're not from New Lynn, don't worry because you're still more than welcome to attend. While the presentation will focus on the New Lynn area, there will still be plenty of useful information about flood resilience you can learn. If you live near a stream, then the presentation will be especially relevant, but even if you are someone who hasn't been directly impacted by flooding, you'll still find lots to learn that's relevant to you.
So if you're interested, come along and learn what flood resilient action you can take in your neighbourhood.
