Malcolm Paterson has authored multiple children's books in the 'Sharing Our Stories' series, which look to increase knowledge of (and interest in) local histories.

He is the tumuaki (chief executive) of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara (the 'post-settlement entity' for Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara). He is also the Deputy-Chair of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Māia (that hapū’s cultural, environmental and social development arm).

Join us for a very interactive reading of his book 'Tunnel in our Backyard', a charming picture book, which brings to life for children the connection with the land around them – a land full of stories and reminders of history.
