Announcing the third AUM Winter Series event on Saturday 20 September.
We are excited to announce the third AUM Winter Series event for 2025, a one-night showcase of the mighty White Stag main stage which is the centre of AUM Festival’s history.
This night will be a mixed-genre affair for lovers of big sounds, big decor, big visuals and big energy. The soaring art and decor of the White Stag are legendary in the festival scene so we’re excited to bring it to this special limited-capacity warehouse event.
The White Stag is one of the most spectacular stages of the NZ summer - each year being redesigned to be something brand new. From the 10 metre psychedelic octopus, to the lifelike stage faces painted by street-style muralist artists GASP, to the giant Emerald City. A huge psychedelic canopy lives overhead and the sound quality, visuals and lights provide a complete audio-visual feast.
Our previous two Winter Series events were sold-out showcases of the Kānuka Stage and The Hill which has two very different music themes. The White Stag stage event will be a bit of everything that is special about the stage. We have two headlining artists who we’re sure you’ll love: Gumnut from Australia, and Kiwi act Fiord performing live for the first time in a long time. Local support from Ferksta, Rachael Sabin and another special guest TBA.
>> ARTISTS PERFORMING <<
GUMNUT is Sydney producer Jack Layard, a psychedelic artist who we’ve admired for a long time from his sets at Rabbits Eat Lettuce and other top festivals.
His background as a bass player and guitarist are frequently incorporated into his organic-infused sound. Being influenced by a range of genres including jazz, funk and rock, Gumnut’s music and DJing is full of melodic grooves, bouncy baselines, and live instrumentation. It’s progressive psytrance that transcends boundaries and limitations.
FIORD are the Kiwi live performance duo we know so well under their other names, Antix and Out of Sorts, when they perform their progressive or techno-slanted sounds. As Fiord they take things into the progressive realm, touching on trance. This brotherly duo have performed live at major festivals and clubs around the world, including in South America, Asia, Europe, and North America.
Fiord’s musical background is rich with influences spanning Ritchie Hawtin to Rhythm and Sound and their studio and performance skills have seen them grow their various artist names and sounds to become one of New Zealand’s best electronic live acts.
Joining Gumnut and Fiord will be AUM Festival co-owner DJ Ferksta, longtime AUM resident DJ Rachael Sabin and one more special guest DJ to be announced.
This event promises to be one of the most visually and sonically spectacular events of winter in Auckland. We also have a special announcement about AUM New Year's Festival to happen during the night.
