Exotic caulerpa is an invasive seaweed that has been spreading rapidly across our moana, smothering the seafloor and disrupting ecosystems.
A Fight for Our Whakapapa – Exotic Caulerpa: The Seafloor Coloniser is a visual story that captures the voices of mana whenua who have witnessed these changes firsthand. It shares their kōrero about the cultural impacts of this “seafloor coloniser” and the fight to protect our whakapapa, whenua, and moana.
Each screening will be an evening of welcome, the premiere of the visual story, kōrero from those who contributed, and time to connect over light refreshments.
This is a free event, with tickets required only to RSVP and help us manage capacity.
