Camp of Rock began in 2007, as part of the Central Maine Community College Summer Camps program. There was one session that year, two in 2008, and one each in 2009 and 2010. Camp of Rock grew in each of those years, but CMCC stopped doing their summer camp programs. So Brian Gagnon formed the Great Falls Academy of Modern Music, LLC, and brought Camp of Rock to LA Community Little Theater in 2011, where it has held two week sessions each year ever since. The kids who come through the doors each year hear about Camp of Rock from previous experiences and mostly by word of mouth, but they knew that expectations were growing with each passing year. Kids who play at Camp of Rock learn as many rock songs as they can in 2 weeks, then put on a big show to conclude it, and there have been MANY memorable ones. But this is the last one. Session 20 will be the last Camp of Rock, and as a result, the Final Big End of Camp of Rock Show is one you won’t want to miss!! Brian is involving so many people in this show that there’s something for everyone. The night will begin with a spin-off group, Little Rockers, opening the festivities. That will be followed by a few solo, duet, and small group performances by students of his through the Great Falls Academy of Modern Music. Then, Camp of Rock will take the stage for a set of bangers. These kids will rock the stage through a set of songs by Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, Weezer, Whitesnake, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Go-Gos, Megadeth, Marshall Tucker Band, and many more. And then the Alumni of Camp of Rock will join them. There are handful of kids who’ve aged out over the years who will come back for one last rip. And you will want to say that you were there for it. Plus, there’ll be great food, great beer, and great friends there to enjoy the amazing venue at Lost Valley. Tell your friends, and let’s see you at Camp of Rock’s Swan Song!
