Minor Gold will make the trek from Down Under to make their Sundilla debut on Friday, May 23. This one will take polace at Pebble Hill (101 S. Debardeleben in Auburn) which means that if the weather cooperates, it will be an outdoor show! Showtime is 7:30, and advance tickets are just $20 and can be found at Spicer’s Music, Ross House Coffee, and online at sundillamusic.com. Admission at the door is $25, and $15 for students. Free coffee, tea, water and food will be available, and the audience is invited to bring their own favorite food or beverage.
Minor Gold are an Americana-Folk duo featuring ARIA nominated artists Tracy McNeil & Dan Parsons. Having shared hundreds of stages together for the better part of a decade as respective songwriters and performers, becoming a duo (in life and on stage) was inevitable. Thus, Minor Gold was born.
Their sound is replete with masterful harmonies, deft guitar playing with dynamics ranging from the intense restraint of campfire intimacy through to open throttle abandon. We hear the hedonistic groove of early 70’s cosmic Americana, the daydream haze of 60’s folk, and the power and romance of 80’s pop but despite the classic references of yore, it’s undeniably music written for the here and now. Their first album, written while enduring the Covid lockdown, is delightful, breezy, and full of songs of love and respect, dreams and yearning. It is a folksy offering with overtones of Simon and Garfunkel, a slice of Graham Nash-sounding harmony and some retro 70s and 80s production – a little something for everyone
