Grandparents: Getting Started

Many things have changed since those now becoming grandparents raised their children. It is important for grandparents to learn the new recommendations for care based on research from doctors and scientists studying the physical and emotional development of infants and children.

Interested grandparents, or those soon to be grandparents, are invited to attend Grandparents: Getting Started. This two-part class will be held in the Assembly Room on Tuesday, September 30th AND Thursday, October 2nd. Both classes will run from 5:45 - 7:00 pm.

Grandparents: Getting Started is taught by certified Safe Sitter® Instructors. Participants will learn the latest information on how to safely care for infants and children and how to manage the behavior of children of all ages. Tips on creating a good relationship with grandchildren and how to handle babysitting requests will be shared. In addition, life-saving skills such as choking rescue, first aid, and injury management will be taught.

No registration is necessary, and participants are encouraged to attend both class sessions.
