Chinook Pass and Yakima Drive 2025

Come and joins us for a trip into Washington’s icebox! It will be a welcome way to cool down if we have a hot summer this year. We have a limited widow of time between the opening of the pass from its winter sleep and possibility of its closure by a wild fire. So lets make the most of it!
A breathtaking summer drive through the Cascades and Yakima Valley, departing from Big Nation Station—arrive by 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM rollout. Our scenic route takes us through the Silver Creek Visitor Center, up the winding roads of Chinook Pass with its sweeping mountain views, and down into the heart of orchard country with a refreshing stop at Washington Fruit Place at Barrett Orchards. We’ll wrap up the journey with a relaxing late lunch by 2:00 PM at the beautiful Canyon River Grill, nestled alongside the Yakima River. Whether you're in it for the drive, the scenery, or the company, this adventure promises a perfect mix of fresh air, photo ops, and Pacific Northwest charm.
