Penguins, Apartheid, and Pluralism

Pete Mather's upcoming presentation includes reflections on his cross-cultural journey in South Africa, a nation celebrated for its transition from institutionalized racism under the apartheid system to democracy, guided in part by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).

Mather's journey involved engaging with faith leaders, contemporary activists, and a former political prisoner. Sunday's presentation will explore the complex realities of post-apartheid South Africa through the lens of Unitarian Universalist principles, offering lessons on how individuals and communities can work towards a more just and equitable world.
