FREE CMA 2026 "Teaser" Concert: Stepanova, Zorman, Kim

In a first opportunity to learn about and celebrate this season’s Chamber Music Athens Festival, join festival co-director and UGA faculty Liza Stepanova, piano, guest artist Itamar Zorman, violin and UGA cello faculty James Kim for an evening of music.

Stepanova, Zorman, and Kim will present a varied program of solo, duo, and trio works. The first half of the program will feature violin/piano and solo piano sonatas by Mozart and Chopin. On the second half, the three artists come together as the Lysander Piano Trio in a colorful intermezzo by Enrique Granados, arranged for piano trio by the great Spanish cellist Gaspar Cassadó, and a rarely heard piano trio version of Schoenberg's passionate Romantic masterpiece "Transfigured Night," arranged by Schoenberg's frequent collaborator, brilliant pianist Eduard Steuermann.

After the concert, join us for a reception in the lobby of the UGA Performing Arts Center. Food, drink, and some of the first details of the festival in May 2026 will be revealed.
