Blessing of the Animals
There will be Two outdoor prayer services on Oct. 4 2025 by St. Matthias Episcopal Church:
10:15 a.m. Crossroads at the Los Socios Mexican Food Restaurant 14754 FM 59 Cayuga TX.
2:15 p.m. at St Matthias Episcopal Church 205 Willowbrook Dr. Athens TX
Bring your cat dog rabbit hamster or other animal companions and join us for a simple prayer service honoring St. Francis of Assisi to celebrate the important place pets hold in our lives and remind us of the wonder of God's creation and our roles as stewards of the earth.
Pets should be well socialized and on a leash or in a carrier. Photos of your pet also welcomed.
Asking for donations of cat or dog toys new pet blankets or Iams dry food for donations to Athens Animal Services.
Blessed pet medals for your pets will also be sold for $10 each. All proceeds will be given to the shelter.
