Iris DeMent

Iris DeMent brings her powerful new album, Workin’ On A World, to Aspen for an evening of unforgettable music and reflection. Known for her deeply moving voice—described by John Prine as “like you’ve heard, but not really”—DeMent has long been one of America’s most respected singer-songwriters. Her music blends gospel, hymns, and old country traditions with a fierce commitment to truth and justice.

With a career spanning over three decades, DeMent’s debut album Infamous Angel was recently named one of Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Country Albums of All Time.” Her follow-up records, My Life and The Way I Should, both earned GRAMMY nominations. She has received the Americana Music Trailblazer Award and her songs have been featured in films like True Grit and TV series such as The Leftovers.
