Mission Marge: The Search for Ace of Aces lost airplane

At our September speaker event, we heard the life story and career of America's Ace of Aces, Dick Bong. Join us in October to discover the story of America’s “Ace of Aces,” Major Richard Bong, and his iconic P-38 “Marge.” Learn how a 2024 expedition to Papua New Guinea located the most famous plane from WWII and sparked new partnerships, including a sister city initiative and museum collaborations.

Free and open to the public.

The speaker is Briana Fiandt. Briana is the Director of Exhibits and Collections at the Richard Bong Veterans Historical Center in Superior, Wisconsin. She has worked in this role since 2014. Previously, she worked as a Librarian/Archivist at Santa Fe Community College in Santa Fe, New Mexico and a Circulation Librarian at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, in River Falls, Wisconsin. Briana received her Bachelor's in History from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1997 and her Master's in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
