Welcome, everyone, and thank you for joining us. We are here today not just to celebrate a book, but to honor a profound and courageous journey that has given rise to a story of hope, healing, and humanity.
It is my privilege to introduce our guest, author Greg Gorrell. Greg has been a cornerstone of the Ashland, Ohio community for many years, exemplifying the values of service, integrity, and leadership in everything he does. He is recognized as a businessman, public servant, a devoted leader in his church, and a guiding presence in his family. His wife Gayle and six children have been proud to support him through the process of crafting his story—His book titled Vietnam Survival, There and Home.
Greg is a graduate of Ashland High School and Ashland University. He is the past president of the Ashland City Schools Board of Education, Ashland City Council, Ashland Noon Lions Club, United Way of Ashland County, the Ashland Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and a Counselor in the Akron, Ohio Stake Presidency of the Church.
He is a former 16-year board member for the Ashland County Council on Aging, former Chairman of the Ashland County United Way Campaign, former board member of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, former member of the Ashland University Business Advisory Council, and current board member of the Ashland City Schools foundation.

Greg is a Vietnam veteran who has turned the trials and triumphs of his life into a deeply moving narrative. Through his book, he shares the raw and authentic truth of his experiences, not only as a soldier, but as a human being striving for understanding, connection, and closure. His words remind us that even in the darkest chapters, there is light to be found.
Today we have the opportunity to listen as Greg shares part of his story. Opening a door to collective healing—a chance for others to reflect on their own paths and find solace. His courage in confronting his past is a gift to those who seek to do the same, and his voice speaks to the enduring strength of the human spirit.
Please join me in welcoming Greg Gorrell, whose journey serves as an inspiration to us all. I am confident that his book will have a lasting impact on all who read it.
