Creating a Culture of Care: Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace presented by Lindsay Wells
Great leadership isn’t just about hard skills and experience—it’s also about emotional intelligence. As leaders, it’s vital that we not only understand our technical roles but also regulate our emotions and respond to workplace situations with care, professionalism, and empathy.
Emotional intelligence can feel vulnerable to explore, but by practicing it ourselves, we can model and teach it to others—enhancing both our leadership toolkit and company culture.
Join us Thursday, August 21st, from 12 - 1 PM, where we’ll cover the four key areas of emotional intelligence and how to apply them:
- Self-Awareness – Recognizing how our personal story shapes emotional responses.
- Self-Management – Taking responsibility for our emotions and learning to manage them.
- Social Awareness – Observing and learning from others' experiences and perspectives.
- Relationship Management – Building trust through active listening, open communication, and respect.
Through practical examples and tools, you'll leave better equipped to strengthen emotional intelligence in yourself, your team, and your workplace.
Presenter Bio: Lindsay grew up in WNC and has lived here for almost all her life. She graduated from Western Carolina University with a B.S in Psychology and then went on to obtain a M.S in Human Resources. Lindsay has also received, and maintains, the credential of a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional. Lindsay has worked in the areas of HR for 7+ years with 5.5 of that being focused in the hospitality industry. One of Lindsay’s professional passions is leadership and professional development focusing on enhancing and enriching the employee’s overall experience.
